KEVIN'S NEW MUCHA STYLE INSPIRED ILLUSTRATIIONS
Share
Thanks for checking out my new blog post. I thought I would share my enthusiasm about creating some new illustrations in the style of Czech artist Alphonse Mucha. Alphonse was a pioneer or should I say, a defining figure of the Art Nouveau movement in Paris in the late 1890s. His posters and illustrations are frequently referred to as STYLE MUCHA.
I created a poster titled Mucha Style which includes flowing lines, intricate floral borders, and more. His posters include idealized women, particularly actress Sarah Bernhardt. His artwork was rendered in full color and are quite large. Many are rendered in oil, some in pastels and charcoal, and ink. Many were lithographs. I am working in colored pencil, charcoal, and pastel for now.
A series of lovely women, animals, and locations will be represented in my upcoming collection, in honor of Alphonse Mucha’s incredible talent.
My son Dylan and his girlfriend Tabatha recently had the opportunity to see his work in person while on vacation in Prague earlier this year. I’m jealous!
